The whole project comes from a view which Service Users have, that there may be a better way to deal with mental health issues than by hospital admission. Councillor Penny Abraham was largely responsible for taking this idea forward and establishing the Crisis House Project Group. There are already two Crisis Houses in Islington, Highbury Grove (Crisis House and Nightime Targetted Crisis Drop-In; Islington residents only) and Drayton Park (women only, Islington and Camden residents) and the concern is that Camden should also have these facilities.

We would like to officially thank CMHC for the use of its administrative facilities, and we would also like to thank the following people:

Scott Stevens - Chair, CMHC

Katrina Anderson - Senior Development Officer, Camden Social Services

Penny Abraham - Camden Councillor

Gareth Pountain - Chief Executive, Umbrella

Cheryl Weetman - Development Manager, Camden Social Services

Mary McGowan - Manager, Special Needs, Camden Housing Department

Colin Plant - Locality Director, South Camden Mental Health Service

Tony Ewart - Locality Director, North Camden Mental Health Service
